How Oil Is Used In Classic Motorcycles With Guy Martin
Guy Martin is synonymous with motorcycles, he loves nothing more than working on a bike in his garage. As he has spent many hours working on motorcycles, from modern to classic bikes, he knows how important it is to maintain them with the correct oil and lubricants to help ensure they maintain optimal performance.
In this new ‘How Oil is Used’ video, Morris Lubricants Technology Manager, Adrian Hill, takes a look at Guy’s pre-1965 classic Triumph Tiger Cub Trials bike.
Adrian explains to Guy that when servicing classic motorcycles of this vintage how important it is, to use an oil that fits the engineering requirements and suits the engine design of the time.
Motorbike oils have changed dramatically over the years with the additional technology in the engine. So Adrian details why oils for modern bikes are not suitable for classic and vintage bikes and what might happen if you use them.
