Morris Lubricants Racing Ambassador Dave Jenkins will be looking to use all his years of experience as he heads to Brands Hatch for the final round of the British Truck Racing Championship with the title on the line.
Eighty points will be up for grabs in the remaining five races as the championship looks to head to a gripping finale. Dave is just five points ahead of the next two racers, as he sits on 319 points, with current champion Ryan Smith sharing second position with Martin Gibson on 314 points. There’s a lot of truck racing to go at Brands Hatch and all 12 racers are looking to pick up as many points as they can to finish as high up the leaderboard as possible.
Dave, who is in his twenty-fifth season of racing, has had a consistently strong season but is taking nothing for granted and will draw on all his experience as he heads to the Kent track for its conclusion: “We’re not getting carried away just yet – we need to stay open-minded about what could happen. There’s plenty of variables to consider, including the reverse grid system. We’re fine-tuning the truck to make sure it’s at its optimal performance level; we can’t thank Morris Lubricants enough for the service and reliability they’ve provided with their oils, lubricants and greases. We wouldn’t be going into the final weekend leading the championship without their products and support”.
The championship is like Morris Lubricants-sponsored Dave has rarely seen before. The ultra-competitiveness and fine-margins make for great racing, which is something that Dave has been delighted to share with fans, as spectators weren’t allowed in the stands for much of the 2020 COVID-hit season: “It’s been incredible to welcome fans back, both in the paddocks and the stands to see the truck racing again this year. It makes a huge difference seeing supporters in the pit lane before and after races.”
