Morris Lubricants Racing Weekend Round-Up 15-16 May 2021

After a long hiatus, Jim Marsden and Team Gigglepin, headed to the notorious Kirton Off-Road Centre in Lincolnshire for what had promised to be a wet and wild weekend competing in the Ultra 4 BFG Essential 2021. In the prologue, the team got off to a great start, finishing in second place. With a late session on Saturday, an incident on the course cut the race short. By Sunday, the skies were clear and conditions improved, the team took the chequered flag and the win.

Thomas Potter had an eventful weekend at the Warden Law Kart Club. He started off in speedy fashion, qualifying in second place then taking the win in the race.  Some technical issues caused Thomas to start the final race in last place, but that only fuelled his competitiveness as he was overtaking his fellow racers on every turn, finishing in second place.

Big sister Catherine had a speedy weekend too, getting the laps in and faster than the race leaders on practice day. She is working on her consistency and building her strength up to control the car. She has her next race to look forward to this coming weekend.

Aaron Walker made his return in the Junior Saloon Car Championship at Snetterton. Having started third in the first race, despite spending much of the race in second place, Aaron dropped back to third position and then the red flag came out. Aaron then finished fourth in the second race in a competitive field. Aaron finishes the weekend second place in the Championship standings, as he looks forward to the next race at Knockhill on 19-20 June.

Chloe Anna Jones had a tough weekend that she'll learn plenty from. On a brilliant course at Maeshafen in Mold, the Enduro-rider found it wet, rocky and tough, which resulted in a few crashes. Due to this, Chloe, decided to call it a day before hurting herself or the bike. She'll learn from the experience and take it into her next race.

Graham Veryard, along with his team Veryard Racing were at Mallory Park in the ACU British Championships Post Classic Superbikes. Ant Hart was leading the race until the last lap when a backmarker forced him to take a wider line, catching the white line and crashing the bike. Fortunately, Ant came out of the crash unscathed. In the second race, despite being a bit nervous, Ant finished in third place.
