Morris Lubricants Racing Weekend Round-Up 2-3 April 2022

Morris Lubricants Racing Weekend Round-Up 2-3 April 2022

Two of Morris Lubricants' Racing Ambassadors were back in action over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd April as they looked to continue their fine form of 2021 into the new season.

It had been a long winter break for both Chloe Anna Jones and Luke Harris, as they were competing for the first time since the autumn.

2021 Wor Ladies Enduro Champion Chloe Anna Jones headed to Fat Cats MX track for her first event in nearly seven months after having her 2021 season curtailed due to an injury at the end of the season.

The first day was a challenging one for the Enduro rider as she had never ridden on sand or on a motocross track in her previous season in the sport, so wasn’t sure what to expect, but went in ready to learn quickly. Despite a few big crashes during the Saturday sessions, Chloe maintained her enthusiasm and commitment to competing and finishing as high on the leaderboard as possible, whilst looking to put the experience into full effect during the race on Sunday.

On Sunday, the aim was to reduce the gap to the other competitors in the class and she did exceptionally well, finishing on both days.

The competition was always going to be a learning curve for the relative newcomer, which she will take into the next rounds which takes place on 23rd and 24th April at Rogershill Raceway in Dorset.

Chloe commented afterwards: "With not really knowing what to expect with a sand track, I was well-prepared with my Foam Filter Cleaner, Foam Filter Oil and Chain Lubricant from Morris Lubricants which kept me busy on Saturday night and in-between runs. Now I know what to expect, I'm ready to give rounds 3 and 4 my best in a few weeks".

Nine-times British champion and Speedway and grasstrack star Luke Harris had a tricky meeting at Ledbury over the weekend.

Competing in the 350cc class, Luke had three races and a sudden death final. During the qualifying heats, Luke managed second place in all three of the heats. He qualified for the final as the fourth highest points scorer in the qualifying heats.

During the final, Luke hit the front early, maintaining some early pace and holding the lead for two laps, but unfortunately eventually drifted and finished fifth overall.

Luke's next meeting is at Grasstrack Banter Promotions in Winchester on Sunday 10th April.
